Dessert Tasting Review. 5/5 Laura's Favorites: 1. Chocolate Mousse Cake - A rich and indulgent standout. 2. Chocolate Éclair - Perfectly balanced with a smooth filling and flaky shell. 3. Lemon Meringue - Tangy and refreshing. 4. Cinnamon Bun - Would've been better warm. 5. Pecan/Walnut Pie - A bit too sweet for her taste. Me: 1. Lemon Meringue - A delightful classic with the perfect balance of sweet and tart. Very telling we purchased the last one 2. Chocolate Éclair - Smooth and satisfying. 3. Cinnamon Bun - Tasty, but we ate this cold, so the temperature let it down. 4. Chocolate Mousse - Decadent but not my top pick. 5. Pecan/Walnut Pie - Overly sweet and not as memorable. Daughters Favorites: 1. Chocolate Mousse - Absolutely loved it! 2. Lemon Meringue - A close second with its bright flavors. 3. Cinnamon Bun - Nice but fell short of expectations. 4. Chocolate Éclair - Good, but not as exciting as the others. 5. Pecan/Walnut Pie - Didn't stand out. Overall Ranking (Weighted Points): 1. Chocolate Mousse Cake - The clear winner across the board. 2. Lemon Meringue & Cinnamon Bun (tie) - Both had strong showings but room for improvement. Cinnamon bun prob #2 if warm 3. Chocolate Éclair - Well-made but not as universally loved. 4. Pecan/Walnut Pie - Needs refinement to compete with the rest. A great spot for dessert lovers to explore! Worth the 1hr and 15min drive home

Love both their plain and ham and cheese croissants. They are both so flaky and tender. The fruit tart is probably my favorite, but also love the sticky nut buns (both pecan and walnut), Lindsor cookies and brownies. Wish they were a vit closer, but then again, it is better for my waist that they ate a bit of a drive.

Wonderful selection of baked goods if you are in the area...we got there right before closing time so the croissants were all gone (insert sad face here) but the chocolate eclairs weren't! They go so well with their cappuccino! Weather permitting, you can sit outside in a very relaxing setting...enjoy!

I have been frequenting Ovens of France for years. It's tucked away in a small plaza on Main Street in Woodbury. When you walk in, you'll notice behind the counter the owners whipping up all of their wonderful baked goods. The bakery case is stocked to the brim with baked goods. They have a wonderful selection of breads and cheeses, and butter. You will find cakes and desserts galore, along with my personal favorite, the croissants. If you decide to check out Ovens of France and you only get one thing-let it be the croissants. Either plain, ham and cheese, or my personal favorite, the chocolate. They are flaky, buttery, perfection and they never disappoint. It's a great place to grab some desserts for entertaining if you're in a pinch and don't have time to make anything, or just to enjoy for yourself! There's a reason this business has sustained for so long, and it's because the quality and service is unparalleled. Stop in and see what all the hype is about!

The Ovens of France is so cute! I haven't been in this plaza since Gephettos Toy store was there, and I'm pretty sure it's gone now. Anyway, since it is a large plaza parking is great. The smell when you walk in, since it's a bakery, is delicious. They have all sorts of bread, pastries, and a good display of tea. There's also a cheese case and display of books for small children! We chose several pastries and brought them to Philadelphia - they traveled really well! They were really fun to look at and so tasty to eat. One looked like a small cup of tea with a well tempered chocolate "cup" and fruity mousse interior. It was a little hard to split, but taste wise well worth it. Then their cheesecake - mwah, great chocolate, great flavor, I may have taken a little extra!

If you're looking for the best bakery in CT, look no further. Ovens of France is nothing short of amazing! Located in a shopping plaza, this little bakery makes some of the best French pastries I've ever had. I went for the first time, and because it's about a 50-minute drive from where I live, I knew I had to make it worth the trip! The place is pretty small, with just a couple glass cases filled with pastries, a counter to order, and a small refrigerator with some cheeses. There's a covered sidewalk in front of the restaurant with tables, however, and a couple "chess tables" if you're looking to stay a while. I tried the Raisin Scone, Chocolate Croissant, Coconut Macaroon, and Apple Strudel. All were DELICIOUS. While I generally don't like raisins, the Raisin Scone was probably the best scone I've ever had! Not only did it have an excellent flavor, but the consistency was perfect. Not too dry, and a little moist inside. The Chocolate Croissant was probably my second favorite. I ordered a second one to take home and warmed it up in the microwave, which made it taste even more amazing. I was also really suprised at how cheap everything was! It only cost me a total of $12 for the scone, croissant, macaroon, and strudel. Such a bargain! The staff were friendly and efficient. Overall there's not a bad thing I can say about this place, and I already can't wait to make the trip back!

The best croissants!!! The, layers, the butter, the crumb. Go with a friend or two so you can taste the plane and a chocolate almond or one if there stuffed Croissants, so delicious while you're there. Have a cappuccino or espresso. Just enjoy yourself. These are so good they should be eaten slowly. Yummy!!!

This is the real deal. If you've had the pleasure of spending any time in Paris, you know what a real croissant tastes like. Coming to the Ovof France is like being transported back to Paris. Their croissants, especially their almond is exceptional. As is their individual lemon tart and coconut cake. The multi grain and sourdough are a family favorite. Very professional staff, consistent in both quality and presentation which I really appreciate. Treat yourself to something wonderful and enjoy a pastry or bread from this wonderful bakery.
